I’m Helen Perks, a Registered Nutritional Therapist and a Functional and Lifestyle Medicine Practitioner with a BSc. in Nutritional Medicine, with over 12 years of clinical experience, and the creator of the RESPECT® model of health and wellbeing. A model of a 7-pillar approach that supports you to get to the root cause of your symptoms and take back control of your health.
But before I was a practitioner, I was a patient.
Years of exhaustion, pain, multiple miscarriages, and finally an M.E. diagnosis left me physically and emotionally depleted. I was juggling a demanding corporate job, raising a young child, commuting hours each day, and just trying to survive. Like so many women, I put my health last, until I couldn’t anymore.
If I knew then what I know now, things might have been different. I may have more than one child. I might not have lost 17 years of my life.
Now, I use everything I’ve learned, personally and professionally, to help you get from A to B much faster than I did. With empathy. With strategy. And with science.
This work became even more personal after my father was misdiagnosed. Despite countless scans and tests, no one looked deeper. He was misdiagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). No one asked the right questions. By the time we found out he had a rare neuroendocrine cancer, it was too late!
That was a line in the sand. He cancelled his future through his food and lifestyle choices. I chose to fight for mine.
Now I fight for my clients too, so you don’t miss out on the life you should be living. So you don’t spend years chasing answers that were always within reach.
From France to New Zealand, and across the UK, women come to me with complex symptoms like bloating, brain fog, acne, anxiety, migraines, hormone chaos, and fatigue, often after being told that “everything looks normal.”
All consultations are held online via Zoom, and always have been, long before it became the norm. This means you can get expert, personalised support from the comfort of your own home, wherever you are in the world.
I dig deep! I look at your symptoms in context: your food, sleep, stress, community, environment, movement, and more. We work together to find and address the root cause, not just mask symptoms.
Every woman receives a bespoke RESPECT® Prescription, and I guide you step by step with expert support, compassion, and care.
I leave no stone unturned, and every consultation is grounded in empathy, honesty, and collaboration.
My approach combines:

(where needed)

I specialise in supporting women with:
Hormone imbalances (PMDD, PCOS, perimenopause, acne, pregnancy, PMS, menopause)
Gut health issues (IBS, bloating, reflux, food sensitivities)
Fatigue, anxiety, migraines, autoimmune flares, weight gain, and more
Pre/post-surgery support and safer alternatives to long-term medication
To date, 100% of my GP letters I write on behalf of my clients have led to approved blood tests, scans, or specialist referrals.
I’m also currently training under an Oxbridge-educated integrative oncologist to support cancer patients before, during, and after treatment. From September 2025, I’ll be offering evidence-based cancer nutrition and lifestyle programmes, designed to improve quality of life, reduce treatment side effects, and support recovery outcomes, all while working alongside your medical team.
This is not a one-size-fits-all clinic. I blend nutritional therapy, functional medicine, and lived experience to offer highly personalised, deeply supportive care
Asking the questions no one else does
Helping clients finally feel seen
Turning complex symptoms into clear, actionable plans
Bridging the gap between nutrition, medicine, and advocacy
I’m also a speaker, writer, and children’s health advocate, featured on the BBC’s Morning Live Show, in The Times, iNews, Healthline, HELLO!, Marie Claire, and The Truly Epic Book of Vegpower alongside Jamie Oliver and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall.
I have also developed a children’s health initiative to improve lifelong eating habits in schools.
I live in a small village on the Essex, Cambridge, Suffolk, Hertfordshire borders with my husband and GSP dog. We cook together, swim in the sea, go for long dog walks, and laugh often.
When I’m not in the clinic, I love bubble baths, classical music, dancing to pop music, and meaningful conversations with friends and family over a table of homemade food.
If you’re ready to stop guessing and start healing, I’m here for you.
You deserve more than just symptom management. You deserve the future you have envisaged for yourself with minimal interruption to your quality of life.
